We began sowing cotton seeds in June 2008, encouraging farmers venture a shift to organic farming. This was the first sowing event under the Pre-Organic Cotton Program.
Ripe cotton grown from the first seeds was harvested from October to November 2008. The cotton was then spun into yarns in the spinning mill using wind energy. The first Pre-Organic finished products appeared on market in 2009.
In 2008, around 300 tons of pre-organic cotton was harvested.
